    70. Straight isn't a problem, distance is. I switched to the Velocity last year. I like the feel, but getting it to hold the greens is an issue. Will one of the other balls give me the same distance and better control around the greens?
  3. I would like to see an answer also. I'm 71 with an 8.5 index. I've lost distance the last few years and must rely much more on my short game to shoot reasonable scores. Is there a perfect ball for me? I'm currently playing the Pro V1x. What balls are being talked about when people mention triangles and squares?

Why so many different balls? We should answer these questions to answer some of these problems. I have played Titleist balls all my years as a Professional. We should also show which balls relate to swing speeds.

I will continue to play Titleist products because they have proven to be the best for all the different swings and speeds for all players. Remember only 15 % of all golfers break 85. I also realize that most people think they are better than they are. I love that.

Is it true that balls match match up or perform better with specific types or designs of clubs, specifically drivers? What sort of indicators would we look for?
  7. How do the NXT Tour and NXT Tour S compare to ProV1 and ProV1x? Thanks

There are many "high performance" balls on the market these days but only a handful that perform around the greens. It seems that since the manufacturers went away from the three piece wound balls, they have a) struggled to find the same short game performance or b) have put so much technology on reducing spin off the driver that the short game control is adversely affected.
I have stayed with the ProV series balls as the performance and quality is good but compared to the three piece balata covered balls, the performance is not as good (my opinion) around the greens. The last couple of years, I've noticed a move toward soft feel balls and that's closer to the feel I'm looking for but few combine soft with great short game control. Can we expect a ball from Titleist in the future that joins the nice soft feel and truely high performance around the greens?
  9. I have been using the Prov 1 almost since you first brought it out. I am a 9 handicap with a swing speed of 99. I have found that after a round using the same ball, it is no longer perfectly round. I have a aluminum guage the exact diameter of a ball. When I start a round I always check the roundness of my new ball. After the round I have found several balls that no longer pass through my guage. What's up with that?

Always played the flagship Prov1 and Prov1x and recently tried the NXT tour s in yellow as it is easier to track in the air and easier to see on the ground. I get the distance and spin from this ball and now I played it all the time. Only wish you made the Pro v's with the yellow ball option. I am a full Titleist player and the clubs and customer service are excellent! Keep up the good work! Titleist all the way!

What changes/improvements are being made in the new balls this year? I normally play the Prov1 ball which produces the best results for my game and am curious what plans you all have for us for the Prov's. I am 69 and my handicap is 10 and my swing speed is 93mph. I have tried the DT Trusoft and have used it on occasions and it has performed extremely well, but have not intentions of changing from that Prov1. I will keep it in my bag for those cold days when I want a low compression ball. Great job guys. I commend Titleist on the development of the new DT Trusoft and it's comparison to the cally Chrome Soft. I have hit both and that perform equally and the price difference, WOW.

Is it possible to set up a chart that compares all Titleist golf balls. Compares trajectories, feel, roll, etc?

    Hi Albert -
The fast LSX core of the Velocity golf ball is now larger than ever, which means you will experience more ball speed for longer distance on all of your full swing shots. A larger Velocity LSX core requires a thinner cover. This thinner NAZ2 cover means your golf club will interact with more of the LSX core, improving the overall feel you will experience with the Velocity golf ball. The new Velocity has retained that high launch angle with the irons and wedges giving a steep angle of decent into the green for stopping power.

    Thanks for the question,

There's an obvious difference in feel between the NXT Tour and Tour S models. Feel isn't everything though - could you share some performance data (e.g., ball speed, spin rates) that might help deciding between the two?

I play the NXT Tour-s most of the time and I love the performance. Will they ever produce a low compression NXT ? I love the soft feel of the lower compression ball. And does Titleist have any plans for a 2 piece urethane ball ?

    Hi Alec -
It sounds like the new NXT Tour S is perfect for you! In response to golfers like yourself, we have made the new NXT Tour S even softer. We did this by softening both the core and the proprietary Fusablend cover. The new NXT Tour S is one the softest golf balls in our line from core to cover and we hope you enjoy the great soft feel it provides for every shot on the course.

    Thanks for the question,

My question is slightly different. I have been afforded to "test" balls on various occasions - I LOVE GETTING THE WHITE UNMARKED PACKAGE - and try to take the feedback process seriously. It has always disappointed me that we never get any "feedback" from Titleist. I would like to know what others thought, what balls did they compare against, what conditions did they test under, etc. As a general rule, in research, it is always nice and sometimes required for the research team to present their findings. Even if highly aggregated and generic, it would be informative as a purchaser to know what others thought. This last batch, however, raises the bar. I loved, Loved, LOVED the ball I tested and I compared it against PV1x my usual, PV1, then got curious and tested it against NXT ..... wow, what a ball it seems to have attributes of everything from the velocity (distance), feel (PV's), durable-playability (NXT). I particularly loved it in the short game and it was and maintained the brightest white I have ever seen. I would buy these by dozens and give them as gifts. Problem,,,, as we receive no feedback, I have not a clue what this ball may be marketed as and for all I know it might even be a ball for the Japanese market which I have learned has slightly different product lines from we have in the USA. I totally understand that the golf ball industry is highly competitive, very secretive, and the R&D process even leads to litigation ... however, I would think there would be numerous ways to send TT members at least some feedback on the ball they had tested. As an FYI, I received my test balls in early November. Thanks for considering this question.

When I received a sleeve of balls last fall marked D T Trusoft were they really them or a different ball with those markings, like a placebo, to see the feed back?
  20. I've been playing the ProV1x forever, because with a 170mph ball speed, I didn't really think anything else could hold up and not spin too much. Have a been wrong? Is there any other balls from the line that I should try?
  21. will there be a buy 3 dozen get a 4th free this year for ProV1x?

I've tried the velocity and can't really get comfortable with it. It seems to be a really firm ball. Was that the intent of it to make it firmer for distance?

With no ball-fitting facility in the country, how can I know which ball suits me best? I have tried the Pro V1, V1x, Velocity, and NXT Tour S, with vast different results that make my decision even harder and confusing.....HELP!!
