On course testing comparison with Chrome Soft x

Ball is really soft with a deep thump sound off the club which i have hard to get use to.
Mid and long irons i get a good ball flight and goes long! Little harder to work though and there is substantial lack of feedback on mid- short irons. Soft greens today so hard to judge stopping but initial view os that o dont get the same control on my wedges.
Due to it being so soft i dont like putting with it, sound and feel is off for me.

Summary is a very soft ball with length but lacks in playability and feel.

I play at 6 hcp, 716AP2 and a milled putter. Wheather was high 40/low 50

I've now got some rounds in with the test balls. These are definitely a distance ball and was 10-15 yds longer than my chrome soft. Feel was descent with the putter. But approaches and around the green you can feel the difference. I did get a windy round in and the ball flight was good in the wind when struck solid. They did scuff easily of the cart path.
  3. Played several rounds with the prototype balls and I love them. A very soft feel and I was hitting them longer and straighter than my normal NXT ball. Very much looking forward to learning what ball it is - I am a definite customer.

Got to play the prototype ball. Very good ball. Holds its line in the wind
and has similar distance through out the bag as the Pro V1. Holds the green
nicely. Hit and releases a few feet on mid and short irons. I could not get it to
back up like the Pro V1 does. Feels good off the putter. All in all a very good ball.

I just tested my prototype today. I normally play NXT Tour. This ball felt a little softer, drove straighter for me, and I played my wedge shots better with this ball. Please let me know what this turns into so I can buy it!!!

Really enjoyed this testing, so thanks for allowing me to participate. I've filled out the survey, but was hoping the model of ball could be disclosed. I really enjoyed playing this, and was hoping to know the model so that I could purchase a box.

    Cheers!

Just received sleeve of white & sleeve of yellow TEST balls.
Looking forward to test them in SC in March.
Nice to be on the TEST TEAM AGAIN.
    THANKS TITLEIST
  8. My greatest difficulty with the test balls was with putting. The ball comes off the putter head with much greater force than my NXT Tour S. I was consistently going past the hole. With practice I would get control of the speed. Otherwise, I liked this ball very much.
  9. I loved the ball flight on this ball compared to my normal ball lower flight. I also thought off the tee with my Driver it was longer and not much back spin to balloon up and loose distance. I thought it was going to play like a DT Solo from the looks of the cover. I hit a limb on a drive thinking it would have scuffs on it nope. The cover was Durable. I can't wait to find out what ball this is.
  10. It took me a while, but finally got to play a round hitting the test ball against my current ball (redacted as from another manufacture). The prototype was on point and one of the best balls I ever played. My sleeve was white, and having seen some discussions, others seem to have gotten yellow ones, which I would have preferred this time of year I think.

I finally received the test balls. Had a chance to play over the weekend. A few courses reopened in MN and we got out. I was impressed with the balls performance. Temperature was in low 40's with a 15MPH wind. The ball flew well, felt soft on all types of shots, especially chips, pitches and putts. Most surprising was how the ball held up. I had given one to my partner to try and after 18 holes both ball looked like new. Would love to know when the ball is available and what it is as I'd definitely buy them.
  12. Was out of town to find these were waiting for me when I got back (thanks Titleist) and had a chance to take them for a spin at the club for a few rounds last week. Gave them a head-to-head match-up between other balls (Pro V1, Volvik XT, & Bridgestone B330) while the course was slow.

I found them long and straight off the tee. They unquestionably had the longest carry of the four balls I played. This carried on through the fairway woods, long irons and into the mid irons.

Getting these up and with a steep descent angle with the short irons and wedges is almost automatic they are so soft. I usually try to manage the course not to have 90 yard or under shot the green but was extremely confident with these from anywhere from a 50-75% swing with any club.

The only drawback I saw in the balls for me was how hot they were off the club face on chip shots and putts. I found myself clubbing down two clubs to account for it and the extra roll. I finally had to quit hot-swapping balls on putts for the same reason as well -- the prototypes had far more rebound off the putter face than I could account for putting multiple balls at a time and maintain any semblance of distance control.

Finally, I was extremely impressed with the cover. It stays clean, it's incredibly durable, and plays better than anything else I've ever hit that lasted a couple of rounds.

  13. I received my sleeve and played them on a golf trip last week in Southern California. Perfect weather conditions. 75 degrees (not too hot where things are over compressing and not too cold where the ball is a rock).
I was impressed with the distance, spin control and cover durability but I never felt like I was compressing the ball with my long irons and driver. My long iron club speed average is 93mph and my average driver club speed is 103mph (srxn Z945 Irons and M1 Driver).
I loved the look of the ball and it felt great on the putting surface. First ball I have seen in a while with two different dimple sizes that I liked...Unfortunately no pictures as I sucked two off of par 3s into hazards (greens were a little soft) and piped the third 330+ through the fairway OB. Good problems to have!

Battling golfer's elbow for a few weeks and finally felt I was able to give a full test today. I have been able to practice putting and chipping and thought the test ball was firmer than my current ball prior to today's round.

On full tee shots, the Test ball was about 10 yards behind my current ball regardless if I hit it first or second. On one occasion, though, I hit identical 3 woods within one yard of each other on a dogleg right, and hit both approaches above the hole. Test ball was a little firmer than my current ball, and rolled out a little more, but made the comebacker.

I struggled with the Test ball on pitches inside of 60 yards. From 25 yards today I hit my current ball about 10' short and it rolled up next to the cup to save par. The Test ball rolled another 25' and I bogeyed the hole. The Test ball was more durable than my own; shorter than my current ball; and flew a little straighter. The distance gap was most troubling with the wedges as I am pretty precise with my SM6 wedges and know my distances well with my current ball. I often fell about 7-10 yards behind my own ball.

I have had a lot more practice chipping and putting with the Prototype. Once I figured out how much further it rolled versus my own, it was just as easy to play. I like to use spin out of the bunkers with my K grind, and found the Test ball a little tougher to figure out. Each time it rolled out about 6' further than my current ball. I could certainly adapt, but it was noticeable given I am used to my current ball.

I had a blast testing the ball, and greatly appreciate the opportunity. Can't wait to hear what type it was!

Still no love for me from the postman! Maybe my test balls were lost in transit? :(

Not sure what happened .... but enjoy reading everyone's results on the "new" ball.
