  1. Can’t wait to hear the reports.
  2. I myself was fortunate to hear a knock at the door and opened it to find this little lovely box dying to be opened. To my surprise, 2 sleeves of 2019 proto's and a letter from Matt Goodman, Director, Product Marketing. So as you can see in the pic, the comparisons have begun, starting with the greens.
I am very honoured to have been chosen and look forward to giving ALL my feedback, on these balls. And I can't thank Titleist enough, for not only making my great clubs, wedges drivers, and Scotty putter but as well the #1ball in golf. I love my ProV1 probably more than my kids, Yet this year I was dealt a sleeve of the New AVX, of which I soon bought a box, but this has put a strain on my feelings for my ProV1 as the new AVX is so much more forgiving with the driver and long irons, but still maintains that stop and drop technology we love of the ProV1's.
Well, thanks for reading and I look forward to uploading results!!

p.s. I thought I should ask beforehand but are we allowed to post on Instagram and other social media about the 2019 proto's and such? or is it a strictly Team Titleist thing?

  4. I was fortunate to receive a sleeve of the 2019Proto's. I put them through the test playing side by side with my 2018 ProV1's for 18 holes.

As others have noted, the durability was outstanding. Thankfully, my home course is pretty open and I didn't lose a ball that day. At the end of the round the Proto was in great condition despite being in a few bunkers. No noticeable marks.

The feel off the driver was consistent with the ProV1, which is a plus for me. Very solid.

The greens were fairly receptive as we've had some moisture recently. I normally hit my irons fairly high, and shots stopped extremely quickly on the greens, usually within two feet of the ball mark. The 2019Proto felt perfect off the irons for me, and were right on the money distance wise. Control and feel around the greens was also very good.

Putter feel was consistent with the ProV1 I currently play.

Titleist is the number one ball for a reason. As a loyal customer I appreciate the opportunity to test this ball and it lived up to expectations. Thanks Titleist!
  5. I finally got to play golf again after healing from an injury. I played the test ball next to the Pro V1x that I alway play. I agree that the new cover holds up very well. I did find that the ball played with a harder consistency than the Pro V1x. I noticed that the trajectory was more like the Pro V1, than the Pro V1x. It was overall consistent, and it putted well. All in all, I think that you've improved the cover without taking much away from the performance. It had good distance off the tee. It was pretty consistent with the distances I am used to with with my irons for this type of ball.

    You've got a winner.

Good morning Titleist, Will we all be getting a small white box in the post??? Fingers crossed we do!!! Would love to try the new PROV1x up against the old model.
  7. Thank you Team Titleist for sending me the 2019 Proto balls. I've been using them for about 6 rounds now - usually about 9-13 holes at a time. I've been comparing these Proto balls against the current gen Pro V1, Bridgestone XS, srxn Z-Star and even "lower swing speed" balls like the Q-Star Tour. For me (63 yrs old, 17.5 hdcp, approx. 90 mph driver swing speed), the 2019 Proto ball flies farther, lands softer, bites on the greens quicker from any distance, and feels better - than any other ball. I'm down to my last one, so please - GET THESE ON THE SHELF SOON! I've got to add them to my bag!
  8. Off the face of my driver (913 D-3), they feel solid without feeling "rock-ish", seem to have mid to medium high launch, but penetrate the wind very nicely. My hybrids (818-H1 and 915H) they tend to also run mid to medium high launch. And from my JPX 850 Forged irons (6-GW), the best way I can describe them is … quiet - when hit on sweet spot. Perfect blend of soft or smooth feel (NOT mushy) and solid. Nice high traj with plenty of bite on the green. Fairly easy to work through the bag. Greenside spin seems very controllable, and good feel and sound feedback on both chips and putts (Scotty Studio Select Fastback). Rolls very nicely. Cover as soft yet seems to resist shear pretty well. So far I'm losing them before wearing them out.
