This is great - thanks Mike and Steve.

I think two areas that I would like some advice on are:  driving the ball, specifically, retaining good form, balance and rhythm when playing from the tee with a driver.  I feel that when I get that club in my hand I hit a lot of good tee shots, but there are several that I hit terribly during my round, simply because I'm trying to kill the ball.

I would also like to see tips on the short game, from 100 yrds in, including putting.

Thanks again, looking forward to it,

    Jason

  3. yes, this is exactly what i need help on with my drives, i just have to the problem of trying to smash the ball too the green on a 340yd par 4 when i know that i can only get 300 with the ball be landing right where i want it.

My short game is pretty good, My biggest problem is keeping the drive in the fairway. I slice my drive and that usually sends the ball into no mans land, ends up lost or out of bounds and that costs me a lot of extra strokes. Once I get better off the tee I will shoot decent scores.

I would like to see some tips on hitting a wood from the fairway.  I tend to "top" those shots.   What is the best way to stay down on the shot without hitting it fat?

    Thanks!

My game is pretty much make or break if I am putting the ball in the fairway off the tee...if thats the case I have confidence in my irons. Where I need to improve is my scoring around the green. Maybe some inisight into club selection to use in certain situations and putting. I have been working like crazy on my putting but I just cant stay consistent. I am extremely open to some putting tips and/or drills to use for practice. I just feel as though I am losing too many strokes around the green. Thanks TT

Definitely hitting my driver off the tee. Can't seem to hit the fairway or not have any real distance when I do.  I have no second shot to work with. Which then leads me to work my short game a lot harder. Can't wait to see some tips!!!

I'd also like to see some chipping and putting drills for speed control. For chipping i'd like information on situational golfing and course management around the greens. When to flop, when to pitch and run and how to get better control of the ball when chippig to the hole.

Swing plane...and my hands (not the grip).  I am working to be inside out instead of over the top.  Seem to have pretty good control with my irons especially inside 100 yds...but the driver really suffers.  Either I have this high fade (hands) or I pull it left (over the top).  Been working with a coach and it has been having an effect...

For me, it's all about being able to drive the ball. It's left and right, and usually it's way off when it's not working. My irons (even the long ones) are decent, and my short game is very good. I'll loose 10 strokes off the tee and still shoot in the 80's. I just wish I could figure out how to be more consistent off the tee.

Driving... specifically on holes that don't "fit your eye", pitches from 50 yards, and putting advice that helps you see the line and read the putt better.  Looking forward to seeing the videos.

These are my pitch distances at 50 yards: 1. Full golf shot with 64 deg 2. Full pitch with 60 3. Slightly choked pitch with 54 or 56 4. 1/2 swing pitch with PW 5. Choked 1/2 swing pitch with 9 iron. 7. Chip shot with a 7 iron. The way you control your distance is by backswing length and how much you choke down on the handle. Some teach that 10:30 is full swing, 9:00 is half and 7:30 is 1/4. Mine is 9:00, 8:00, 7:00 (arm position). A full wedge swing is really a 3/4 swing. For every 1/2 inch you choke down, you shorten distance by 10 yards for full swing, 5 yards for 1/2 swing, and 2.5 yards for 1/4 swing/chip. It is about a 2/3 rule of thumb (1/2 pitch is 2/3 distance of full pitch, 1/4 pitch is 2/3 distance of 1/2 pitch). Grab your short irons and experiment with backswing lengths, amount you choke down, stance width, etc.

I would like to see the different routines/setup you use for the 3 wood, hybird, approaching a long iron shot, approaching a putt.  If time allows maybe cover different shots out of thick rough at 80-90 yards.

    Sounds great guys!

I would like to see some alignment drills.  My swing feels pretty good, and my distances are good, but sometimes I'll miss a green right or left and it seems like I was unknowingly aiming that way.  Is there any little trick to tip to check your alignment when you're on the course?

Here is the scenario. Your ball is in the rough with a decent lie and the pin is about 75 yards away. You have an opening to the green but there are tree limbs about 10-12 feet off the ground on your target line so you have to keep the ball low. How do you keep the ball low to avoid the limbs and get about 75 yards in distance ? What club and technique should be used ?

I would like to see some tips on keeping the ball lower and knockdown shots.  Here in Oklahoma we need a few of those shots at times.

I would be happy to drive to OKC if he needs a guinea pig.  lol

Mid irons: I frequently don't get "through the ball" on my longer irons (7 thru 4). My tragetory and direction are good, but don't feel the hands release and distance might be two to three clubs short of where a well struck ball would have been.

I would have to say, I would like to see some tips on a good solid practice routine and ways to better use your preround warm up. Also maybe something on the mental aspect of the game, I mean in the way of maintaining a good mental thought process of the game.

    Thanks again Team Titleist

i'd like to see some tips on how to use your lower body correctly? all you hear on sunday telecasts is turn and rotate! no one tells you how to use your feet and where the weight should be at the top of the swing and at impact. i think this would help some of us seniors who are limited in flexibility or had a injury (knees) that limits our using our legs correctly. thanks

If you look at some of the Champions Tour players, they use rather compact backswings. Also look at some of Moe Norman's swing videos. He has a very short backswing but is deadly accurate with irons. A swing that works like a charm is the Stack N Tilt or the Don Trahan Peak Performance Golf System. Either way there is minimal weight shift during the back swing (and a more compact swing). PPGS is more of a straight back, straight through, and vertical follow through (the clubface is perpendicular to the ground at the halfway point of the backswing and at the same point in the finish) with a limited shoulder turn. Stack N Tilt is still classified as a rotational golf swing but the backswing is more compact. The traditional rotational golf swing with the club being parallel at the top (the BIG 90 degree backswing) causes a lot of lower back problems along with the possibility of swing faults caused by the back foot getting stuck. I've been using a compact backswing with minimal weight shift to the back foot for 2 years now. I actually get more clubhead speed with this and a smooth tempo and the weight shift is just about automatic. Nor have I thrown my lower back out. Check out Revolution Golf. Oh yeah... my area that needs improvement is putting.

I need to know how to go about adjusting the 910 D2 & F series clubs as I have 1 of each.

By this I mean what kind of ball flight should I be looking for?

Right now My ball flight with the driver is above the tree line & carry of only around 200 yards.

I have a 22 degree hybrid that will do that.

I think I have too much spin on the ball as it has a near vertical drop at end of flight.

My swing speed is 86 mph average.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thaks,

    Louis

I am not a professional but at a recent fitting I had 5000 rpm of backspin which was way too much. The fitter set me up with a 910 D3 which helps me reduce spin and a stiffer shaft. I was able to get my spin down to around 2500 rpm and picked up about 40 yards in the air and about that much additional overall also. My first suggestion would be to get fit if you haven't been fit recently or ever been fit. I'de also consider testing out a 910 D3 if you are absolutely sure it is too much spin.

Putting speed. If I could stop three putting I would save 5 or 6 stokes a round.I'm trying to go to the putting green after work a few times a week now, which has helped a little but I am still three putting multiple greens when I go out. I feel like I read the greens fairly well, but can't get the speed right. Thanks, David

I'd like to see distance control from 125 yds and in. I think most of the pros typically see the 125, 115, 100, 90, and 80 yard distances as scoring opportunities and amateurs need to also focus on these distances to score better. I don't know how many times I've seen a guy rip a drive only to be left with a short distance and hit their short iron into a bunker or miss a green completely.

I need expert advice re my driver.  I feel my setup is good as is my take away but at the top bad things happen as I end up coming outside to in at the bottom of the stroke.  I feel that if I could learn to draw the ball half my problems would be solved.  With my long irons 80% of shots head right of the target.  Hoping for some advice or training drills.  Keith Mitchell

For sure it's my driver.  Consistently hitting my 905R straight is an issue.  I gain have 5 great drives at the range then sky 5 in a row.

My irons and wedges are in good shape.  Putting is getting better with my new Scotty Newport 2 (never made putts or got close with my Oydessy).

I'm having issues in three main areas... #1 is the short game, especially out of bunkers with firm conditions.  #2 would be putting, I hate those 10-15 ft putts that I miss short. #3 would be driving, I'm hitting 'em straight, but too much spin off the driver doesn't let the ball roll out, usually carries 260+ then stops within 5-10 yards.  Some advice with these would be very appreciated, Thanks!

I get killer distance when leaving the club open a little but it goes 30 yrds off target dead straight. When I correct it I loose 30 to 40 yrds.

    Good luck with that! :)
