Please leave all feedback here... Thanks David TT Used both black and red balls found the red ones slightly harder than the black. but found both balls were of a very good standard. Would have no problem putting them in my bag. Ian
Please leave all feedback here...
Thanks

Thanks for the test balls, I have found the black to be better for my game as it flew straighter with less spin ( 25 handicapper with a slice) but equally happy with both on the greens. I would really like to know which balls these are so I can stock up.

Guys - played with both ball types now. Didn't want to get too analytical, so will give feedback on reflection. I usually play the Pro V1, so to my eye the 'black marked' ball was the type I expected to prefer, but the long and the short of it was that I played the 'reds' for much longer (more holes before losing in water / OOB etc.), seemed to hit my drives typically straighter and further with them, scored reasonably well, they seemed very durable, and soft enough around the greens with enough feel to give you confidence through the shot / chip / putt. I'd happily continue to play with the 'red marked ball', but I have none left :-( (see below)
I'm not sure why, but the black balls didn't seem to be in play for that long before I lost them (off fairway - angry rough at our place...) so can only assume they are a higher spinning ball? Felt OK though and I wouldn't hesitate to tee another one up.
Hope that helps in the feedback mix guys.
I'd happily continue to play with the 'red marked ball', but I have none left :-(
Enough said? ;-)
Mark.

Ok so new season I decided to test the new 'TEST' balls Team Titleist sent me last year and I had been hanging onto while it was too wet and soggy to play anything decent..
All I can say so far is Wow!!
They feel lovely off the club - in fact I have always scoffed at people commenting how a ball feels on impact and thought everything was pretty much the same but now I know what people are talking about (eating some humble pie right now!)
As well as feeling like I could hit them further than my normal ball they also feel like you can work them far easier - how is this possible?
The extra distance was proven by the markers round the course and my mates GPS to check the distances traveled - the workability - well all I can say is that I felt like anything was possible, drawing the ball at will and fading where needed but still with great soft feel on approach shots.
So now I need to know (really really need to know) - what balls did you send me?

I have had 3 rounds with the test balls you supplied and was very pleased with the distance I attained with the driver.
The firmness of the ball helped with the distance, also I did not manage to receive a lot of side spin from this particular model,
which again equated to a little extra distance in particular with my Tee shots with my driver.
Due to the lack of softness in the cover of this ball I did not seem to get a great deal of feel especially with approach shots and chips around the green. I also felt the balls roll of the putter face was not as smooth as i would like.
It will be interesting to know what ball this is in relation to your current models you have on release.I would guess this balls specifications are closer to your Velocity model than your premium models such as the Pro V1.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future
Regards
Steve

Ball didn't scuff and looked as good after the round as at the beginning. Chipping was straight forward, no over spin or sideways spin so chip shots were straighter. Distance was good. Overall, very easy to use ball with no unwelcome surprises eg cut marks on skin or logo fading. Would use them if they are indeed a new ball or just the brand new pro v's. Either way, great golf ball.

David,Many thanks for the test balls you sent through last December. With the weather I hadn't really played much golf to give an assessment. My first round with them was at Burnham & Berrow GC played into a two-club wind between Christmas & New Year. So I felt that brutal test might have been a tough place to judge their performance on. The balls were great to chip with and did offer a true flight. I swapped between my NXT-Tour S and Test ball to judge between them. I did feel the Test ball was very similar but perhaps slightly better around the greens, or I just happened to play a better chip with them! I have played a few rounds in the last couple of weeks and still enjoyed using them but sadly my errant play has mean't I have now lost the last! I notice you brought out an updated version of the NXT-Tour S recently and wondered if the Test set were these? It felt like a nicely made ball, with a good feel. If they were this newly launched ball, I will happy to carry on buying the NXT Tour SMany thanks for the balls and my apologies for the tardy feedback.Kind regards,Chris

Been looking forward to using the TEST balls for sometime now but the course has been closed for the best part of nearly 3 months. I managed to get out yesterday and was very impressed with feel and control. Excellent on the greeens and i even managed to keep up with the longer hitters in the group on a couple of occasions when i put a good swing on it.
Hopefully now the better weather is in for a few weeks Ill get a chance to give them a further try.
I would say distance off the tee was slighty up by about 5 yards and around the green the control and feel was very good. Holed a couple of monster putts and chipped in a couple of times so it gets my vote
I would be interested to know what balls I was testing.
thanks
Graham

Sry this very late, I am just recovering from a rotator cuff tear. Both balls felt fast off the driver face(913D2) the black carrying 5-10yards further for me. Mid irons felt firm compared to usual ball of pro vx but trajectory and distance was nice with both test balls and around same as present ball. Around the greens it is difficult to tell due to winter playing conditions/rules but noticed little or no scuff marks on full wedge shots, spin would appear little less to the eye. Putting was crisp with nice roll out.
Usual Titleist quality.
Best regards,
Stu
p.s hope late reply doesn't prevent future testing, my playing partners jaws still in dropped position!

Many thanks for the test balls, I really enjoyed playing the black numbers balls, they where really good to play with an the short game was really impressive, the red numbered balls seemed a bit too hard for me an I couldn't judge distance with my irons as they seemed to really fly??? Even round the greens they didn't seem responsive an couldn't get much spin or check on the red number balls. Thanks again for the opportunity, hope I can get to do it again

The balls i recieved had very hard feeling off the tee and fairway but were had a good feel around green. I personally did not like them , but i did a hole in one at Dainton Park Golf Club with one of them

Hi there,
I've played about three rounds with the Titleist test balls (black number). I normally use NXT Tour balls and last year updated my driver, fairway and hybrid to the 913 range, although I still use cally X20s. I play off 13.
The overall feeling from the ball was that it felt slightly 'heavier' than my normal ball and if I didn't catch it out of the button, it seemed to struggle to get distance. Out of the button it went a good distance, comparible with the NXT Tour. Similar feeling with the chips and pitches - seemed a bit dead unless you caught it of the middle. As regards putting it seemed OK, but only OK. I'm not sure the same feel was there, which is interesting because I'm told the NXT Tour is hard, but I like it around the greens - perhaps I'm just used to it!
It wouldn't be a ball I would buy (you're going to tell me it's the same as the NXT Tour, so I shouldn't have noticed any difference!!), but I hope this is useful.
Cheers

Hi David,
My course having now dried out I been able test the balls you so kindly sent me. Of the two types I prefer the Red over the black. They gave a more solid feel, the club, driver or iron seems to grip the ball, the flight was very straight, even in very strong winds. Whilst not the softest off the putter face compared to the Black, the ball rolled extremely well.
It will be very interesting to find out the name of the balls sent.

Received test balls last November but due to the condition of course and the weather, I only got played with them last week and this week. I found them to be very good, good distance and great feel, I would certainly buy them.

How do I get test balls?

Hi David
After a further couple of rounds I have found the Black numbered balls my preference over the red numbers.
I went out and bought a sleeve of NXT Tour S (black) and NXT Tour (red) and these seem to be the closed I could find that
match the characteristics of the two test balls you provided.
I would like further confirmation from you that my assumptions are correct as I would like to make sure that I am correct so I may
Buy some more for the season ahead.

I've used the red numbered balls I received in a couple of rounds and found I get more distance and more control than the NXT Tours I was using before. However this verdict has to be taken in conjunction with the fact that I started the year off with a dozen lessons and have considerably improved my swing. I'm going to try the black numbered balls soon so it might be better for me to compare the two test balls types against each other rather than my previous game.
