These balls arrived yesterday and I tried them out this morning. I got Red numbers, which I assume were ProViX. Great ball several yards extra distance and I felt a little more spin than earlier versions. Liked them.

Thanks very much for sending me some test balls to try, I used them today with the new 915 Driver :-)

For me the ball felt nice and solid off the club face, in both long game and short game, had a great feel around the greens. I would say that it feels and plays just like the Pro V1x which is my preferred ball. I liked it very much, so I hope it's 2015's new Pro V1x!!

Thanks Titleist for the sleeve of pro V1x test balls. Thoroughly enjoyed giving them a hit on the course today and around the chipping area. As expected a nice solid feel and strong ball flight with the longer clubs especially into wind as they seemed to fly through the wind better than previous models. With scoring clubs hitting into the greens they responded nicely on the greens and had a nice soft but solid feel. Perhaps chipping from close range felt slightly softer and had great drop and stop control. I was interested to know if there was a new dimple pattern on the ball? Overall another quality product and I can't wait for them to be released. Great job Titleist!

Ihave just tried the new prototype golf balls sent to me, I normally play the Pro V1, the prototype was fine off the tee but did not have the same feel around the green and had a different feel off the putter.

    Thanks for sending the balls

Tested my balls today. I mainly play Pro V1x and sometimes Pro V1. The Test balls reacted very similar to Pro V1x. The test balls went a couple of yards further than my own balls with the driver and almost identical with my 3,5 and 7 irons. It was hard to gauge the spin rate in comparison to my own balls today as conditions were very soft. I would be very happy to use these balls as I liked the flight and they sat down well on the greens. They appeared slightly firmer but very playable.

Thanks for the test 2014 balls. First impressions - Very good. Good feel at the striking of the ball. Ball flew smoothly and with good carry. I am certainly looking forward to continue testing the sample. There was a very slight surface 'nick' which I cannot put down to a tree but possibly a thin hit. (With underground conditions though there could be stone .... at impact.) Putting was good roll off the stroke. Shame the ball doesn't have a homing application installed though! Will keep on testing John Clark

I received a sleeve of Titleist “test” balls a few days ago. I have tested these balls over the last few days I can only give a comparison against the current Pro V1 as this is the ball I play and practice with. The weather over my testing has been around 11 degrees windy with some showers. The test ball is slightly longer than the current Pro V1 it appears to fly a little bit higher with less spin and seems very stable in the wind, the most noticeable thing about the ball is that it really explodes off the face it has a lot more energy transfer than the current Pro V1. The short game is harder to test in these almost wintry conditions but I played many different shots with the ball around the green and on the greens after a few holes I learned how the ball reacted and I had no problem with judging the pace of my putts with this ball. I could play with this ball it would be interesting to find out what model it was.

My test balls have just arrived.  Not sure how soon I can try them as I'm entering a fallow period for golf.

Tried my new test balls today, firstly great improvement i didn't lose any.

They feel really soft around the green, but gosh do they fly off the driver, how do Titleist manage to keep improving their golf balls.

Can't wait to get them together with my new 915 Driver, I've just ordered, fitted at St Ives, 15 yards further and mishits straighter as well, all good.

I tried the new golf balls today and I am quite impressed.

A lot more spin reaction with the shorter irons.

I would place this ball between the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x and I wiould love to know where other people see this being positioned.

Received a sleeve of test ball this week,my first time to test & review.

5hcp held at Littlestone Golf Club (championship links)

Played 18 holes today at my home course in unusually calm conditions.

Pro v1 2013 vs Test ball.

Off the tee with a mix of driver & 3 wood the test ball was around 5 yards longer than comparison ball every time.

I didn't notice any difference in distance when using irons.

Chipping & pitching they performed very similar, typical drop & stop we're used to.

Definite difference in sound/feel off the face, test ball felt softer off the putter.

Most notable difference and something very key to the golf I play was that the test ball went on a slightly lower flight but carried the same distance as the comparison ball.

I'm looking forward to getting out on the course in windy conditions,I'm sure this ball will perform very well.

Very durable cover,18 holes and some full wedge shots the ball is showing few signs of play marks.

Second time out comparing the test ball to my gamer 2013 Pro V1,played on a cool day with a nice typical 15mph sea breeze on the links

Really getting a feel for the new ball now

Subtle improvements all round but still noticeable improvements

I'm still seeing a slightly lower flight compared to the 2013 Pro v1

Most notable difference is with my wedges from 130 & in,the ball comes off the face on such a great flight.

No matter how hard I was hitting it it never climbed up in the wind, dialling in my yardages is far more accurate with this ball time and time again.

Hit some great knock down shots with long & mid irons that just didn't get hit by the wind at all.

There is no doubt this is a premium ball, there isn't a bad pro v1 ball but this ball is just better!!!!

I would switch to this ball straight away.

36 holes with this ball & it's ready for the practice bag.Great durability for 18 tho!

TI received my sleeve of balls this week and used one for the first time yesterday.

am I right in thinking they come somewhere in between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x? The ball was softer than the Pro V1x and spun very well.

i'd like to know when this  ball will come to the market and how it will be named as I would certainly buy some. These had the red numbers on them

    thank, Phillip

Hi, I got my three balls earlier in the week.

i decided to use them yesterday whilst playing a few holes at my local club. From the first drive you could tell they were a very good ball, the drives were straight & long even into 15mph winds. With my short irons I was able to get very good control and when putting the ball felt very good off the putter face.

My conclusion on this ball :  The ball is a very good quality and suits players of all handicaps and in my opinion will be the best ball to play in my competitions next season.

  21. Hi,

Just used the new test balls this weekend.

The conditions where very windy on the course, however I have noticed a significant improvement in performance when playing in the wind. Previously I would not use my usual ProV1 ball above certain conditions as the spin was higher resulting in poor stats hitting fairway.

Around the greens usual titliest performance excellent.

Putting was excellent also with good response with putter.

Thank you for involving me in your trial. When they hit the shops I will be first in line up to buy!
