  1. I am leaving ok’ing for a mini driver that will fit in with my TSR1 driver, hybrids and Fairway woods. Please don’t make it too heavy for us seniors!

Does the 280 relate to the head size? Can’t wait to see the specs!
  3. Looks perfect for my bag. Typically better with the 3 wood than driver so this might be a great compromise.
  4. What are the differences between the 280 and the TSR Series?
  5. Wow, this GT280 looks really nice! Titleist bringing the heat!!!

The new Titleist GT280 — an addition to Titleist’s breakthrough line of GT metalwoods — makes its debut in Maui to kick off the 2025 PGA TOUR season, providing players the opportunity to game the new model in competition for the first time.

With many players seeking an additional option at the top end of their setup, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head that worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck. Building off the success of the TSR 2W prototype, which debuted on TOUR at last year’s PLAYERS Championship, the introduction of GT280 at Kapalua marks the start of Titleist’s tour validation process for the new mini-driver.

While collaborating with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process, and then earning their final validation, is foundational to the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment, we want to hear from you too. What kind of option are you seeking for the top end of your bag? Would you game a GT280? Do you already have that ideal option? Let us know below!

I just need a weapon that sets up a bit more square to target. The lie is a bit open and would seem to require more hands at impact. For better players that need to feather their drives or land and softly rest. The Engineering is presently telling the player to swing hard and let it fly, this is the a inconsistent message in playing the game and control. Are the fairway tools of the same mind frame?

If I may ask what’s the wgt and balance point for right and left handed layers?.
  7. Definitely seems tempting! I bought a GT2 13.5 2 wood and love it off the tee. Cant hit it off the deck much. Wondering if this would be better and more forgiving!
  8. Hopefully they have it to try at Craigielaw when I get my iron fitting!
  9. I would absolutely use this club as a fairway finder on a shorter par 4 off the tee. Also, I would use it on firmer fairways where I could get some rollout on longer par 5's that I could not get home with my 3 Metal wood.
    Great option!
  10. Bought the Taylor Made mini driver last year. Would live to try your mini. How is it different?
  11. What are the benefits of something like this over a 3 wood?
  12. Through the years I have become less enthusiastic about using a normal 3 wood from the fairway. I’m happy Titleist is finally coming out with a mini driver. I will definitely consider adding this club to my bag. I think it will complement my GT2 driver. If you need an amateur test subject, I am your guy!!

I would love this kind of club. I struggle at the top end of the bag so having something like this would be awesome!!!
  14. I could definitely benefit from the. GT280
I’m a low ball hitter and use a TSR1 because it’s lighter and help me get height. With the new GT280 at 13 degrees this will be a better choice.
  15. I’ve been using Titleist TSR1 and TSR2 alternately since their launch and love em both. I’m a senior golfer but remember fondly my old Kenneth Smith 2 wood that I played with for years til it wore out, I just loved to hit it off the deck. When Taylor Made came out with their BRNR Mini Driver I jumped on it, I’ve had great results with it and it stays in my gamer bag everywhere I play. I would definitely give the Titelist version a tryout. Steve
  16. What is the advantage of a mini driver? Does this replace the larger driver or compliment?
  17. I would love to try out the GT280 when it’s available. I gave my Titleist driver to my son last year and bought a competitors driver at a demo day at our club and was never happy with it. I consistently hit my 3 wood better than my driver last year so a 13 degree mini driver might be perfect for me. Happy New Year!
  18. I can finally trade in my TM mini driver now
  19. Excited to give this a try. I ditched the 3 wood several years ago and have been playing a TM Original One 13.5° mini driver lofted up to 16.5° in that spot. I was never hitting 3 wood off the deck so swapping it out with a more forgiving secondary tee option made sense for me. I’d definitely give the GT280 an audition for that spot in my lineup.

I get that other manufacturing companies have had success with their mini drivers. The most successful seems to be the cally Smoke TI340 not the TM BRNR. I have a TSR2 14.5 and GT2 13. I prefer the TSR2 14.5. My question will be can the GT280 replace my TSR2 14.5 or can it maybe replace my TSR2 or GT driver?

The GT280 is much deeper face so off the turf might not be ideal compared to a shallower face option. Very grey area here. So, if the GT280 is ideal off the tee compared to my TSR2 14.5, can it just replace my driver and not a 3wood replacement and then use a 4 or 5 wood as a turf club? This is the area I can see players experiment by using a shaft length longer than a 3wood length. I am guessing the head is around 280cc so maybe a shaft length closer to 43.5" or 44" Could a weapon around 11.5 degrees of loft at around 43.5 to 44" length at 280cc be a better option for control with good distance be better than a huge head driver not that much longer in distance.

480 versus 280 off the tee will be where I experiment with this head....
