  2. I play TSR2+ for the moment, if I would like to change the head, will the new 280 fit in the old adapter? It' s a Premium shaft, so,,,

The new Titleist GT280 — an addition to Titleist’s breakthrough line of GT metalwoods — makes its debut in Maui to kick off the 2025 PGA TOUR season, providing players the opportunity to game the new model in competition for the first time.

With many players seeking an additional option at the top end of their setup, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head that worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck. Building off the success of the TSR 2W prototype, which debuted on TOUR at last year’s PLAYERS Championship, the introduction of GT280 at Kapalua marks the start of Titleist’s tour validation process for the new mini-driver.

While collaborating with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process, and then earning their final validation, is foundational to the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment, we want to hear from you too. What kind of option are you seeking for the top end of your bag? Would you game a GT280? Do you already have that ideal option? Let us know below!

Love the compact head size. looks more controllable.
  5. I’d love to see the spec, data and numbers from the Pros and then go for a fitting to see if it could be an option. The GT range is awesome and always keen to see innovation!
  6. Love it. Can’t wait to try it out.

Awesome looking driver! Hope to get a chance to try one out.
  9. I would love to add that to my bad, more distance plus the controllability!
  10. If a left hand version is made, the GT280 would go into the bag immediately.
  11. Definitely would be interested in adding this to the bag!

Hope this comes to market. I have been playing a low lofted jumbo 2W or strong 3 for about 10 years now. The shorter overall length than a driver makes center contact easier and mitigates the forgiveness advantage of the jumbo head. They models I have played are typically 12-15 yards shorter than my driver but more accurate overall. The "mini" is used primarily for tee shots on tight holes or places where hitting through the fairway can be a problem. I occasionally hit them off the deck, but most players would be better served by a 5W because it's easier to launch than a 3W or mini.

One advantage of this type of club comes for the player that has not mastered the high tee upper cut type swing that works with the deep faced 460CC driver. Because of the shallower face, the ball is typically teed much lower with the mini. The loft of 11.5 to 13.5 launches the ball in a good window with an angle of attack closer to zero with a lower teed golf ball. The smaller head has a center of gravity closer to the face than a 460 head of the same loft so spin rates are not excessive. I have been able to consistently get mid trajectory flat boring shots with the mini for years. I have had especially good results with them on hard fairways where I can get long roll outs.

    As for set makeup, My bag is configured along these lines: Driver, mini-driver/2W 13*, 4W, 22h, 5-PW, 50, 54 & 58.
  13. It's a good-looking club with a face that looks to be 1.5 times deeper than my 917F2 (3) fairway wood, which has a 13.5deg loft and is 179cc. If the 280 in GT280 denotes 280cc, then it will look like Titleist have taken the 917F2 and beefed it up, like Alan Ritchson from Reacher series 1 to series 2, which should equate to harder hits, and longer shots but with the essential control of an elite weapon...just like Reacher himself.
Titleist, can I have one please?

I have been waiting to pull the trigger on a mini driver for Titleist to enter the field of available options. I have been having great results with the GT4 I added during the fall. As others have asked when will the GT 280 be available for fitting and pre-order?
  15. I have been hoping for years for Titleist to make a mini driver. I play TR2 Driver and 3 Wood and I can swing my 3 wood faster than my Driver and with better control and less dispersion. Because of that I give up little, any, distance off of the tee. I even tried (unsuccessfully) to put my driver shaft on my 3 wood to create my own mini driver.
Question: When will the new GT280 be available for fitting?

Great looking club, can't wait to try it!
  17. This...
    Is..
    AWESOME!

Can't wait to try this out. Been playing the TM version and actually really enjoy hitting that stick.
Can say for certain tho, if there is something to be gained, this 280 will find a forever home next to the GT4 driver, and GT2 4w...

The way the Titleist GT heads perform for me are unlike any others I've tried the past 30+ years.

This is, once again, absolutely fabulous news. Titleist continues to be at the top of the game and the top of their game with research and development, player input. and customer satisfaction. Thank you! Can hardly wait for it to be available to us mere mortals. Will schedule my Titleist fitting as soon as it becomes available, to the rest of us. Thank you!

I'd be curious to see what distance gap this fills or how the Pros use it during a round? There are only a few Par 5's I can't cover with a Driver, 3 wood, but would love to have an option off the deck that gave me some grace.
