  1. Reminds me of a Cleveland Classic Persimmon Driver. Weight behind the center of the face. I could imagine the weight of the club head feeling more focused and centered and feeling the center of mass in the hands better. I’ve always felt the big club heads feel like a sail or a balloon and difficult to feel the toe rotate / position sense around the hosel. Would be nice to try one. Maybe grow into more standard driver lofts too. Seems like this more focused size and loft 13.5 and maybe one day 9* , 10* etc allows more versatility? Looks nice!! :)
  2. How do I get one? John
  3. Holy cow!!! This would be awesome!!! I found out this past summer that I’ve lost a lot of distance off the tee after two different back fusions A club like this would help me fill the gap I have from my driver and fairway metals! I’ve been so anxious to try the new Pro V’s, but now I can’t wait til this club becomes available!! I LOVE TITLEIST!!!!!
  4. Great discussion so far!
  5. Looking forward to the release of this club! It’s long overdue.

Awesome!!! When can I get one?!!!! Will 13° be the only option or is 11° a possibility?

I forgot to ask, does it take the driver or fairway tip adaptor?

If the follow the lead of the other OEM it would take the driver tip

What is the expected MSRP? Would go a long way in knowing if many would add it to their bag as an option, vs. a need.

Looks fantastic! Can't wait until it is available, as it will be a perfect complement to my GT2 4W (16.5*) at the top-end of my bag.
  14. In years past you guys have always had a Strong 3wd or listed it as a fairway driver in the 13 degree range. Why now with the GT line has there been the push to enter the market with a mini driver. I know your competition TM has had that corner of the market for years now and now cally in the mix with the paradym smoke ai. I know with the new materials in the GT line that makes this more feasible. Or is that by rebranding a 13 degree fairway wood, or fairway driver a DRIVER to make it more appealing to the masses. I know people love to hit their driver, but struggle because they don’t play enough loft and this is a more appealing option by labeling it a mini driver. Will this be built at the traditional 43.5” 3wd length or built to tour driver length of 44.5” surely it can’t be built out at 45.5”?
  15. This is long overdue imo. I have used a driver off the deck for years due to a very upright swing and most newer 3 woods have too much loft. Hopefully I don't have to wait for half the season to pass before I am able to add the 280 to my bag, I have a gap between my driver and 5 wood that needs filled.

The new Titleist GT280 — an addition to Titleist’s breakthrough line of GT metalwoods — makes its debut in Maui to kick off the 2025 PGA TOUR season, providing players the opportunity to game the new model in competition for the first time.

With many players seeking an additional option at the top end of their setup, Titleist tour reps and R&D engineers worked with players such as Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris to dial in a 13-degree head that worked as a go-to club off the tee and off the deck. Building off the success of the TSR 2W prototype, which debuted on TOUR at last year’s PLAYERS Championship, the introduction of GT280 at Kapalua marks the start of Titleist’s tour validation process for the new mini-driver.

While collaborating with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process, and then earning their final validation, is foundational to the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment, we want to hear from you too. What kind of option are you seeking for the top end of your bag? Would you game a GT280? Do you already have that ideal option? Let us know below!

I love the idea of the mini driver. More confidence off the tee when driver is too much or it’s a tight fairway. Slightly bigger head gives you more confidence without swinging harder because it’s your 3 metal. Launch will be higher than a bunt driver adding distance and control

Is this new club the same as the new driver I was told by Titleist that would give more launch that would come out in February or March?
  18. I'd love to give it a go, I have Titleist everything , but my driver is a 2013, looking for a newer Better model

  19. Looking forward to pitting one of these in my bag for the upcoming 2025 season. Will fill a gap for off the tee for mid length par 4’s and approach shots into Par5’s. Set it up with a Fuji Venus X 70 gram shaft at 1/2 “ longer than normal specs it will be great to move weights around and get the best fit after fooling around on the range with a TrackMan to get best fit and flip weights depending on course and wind conditions. Another smashing addition from Titleist just as we have come to expect
  20. I am very excited for this club. I have Titleist all through the bag and was gaming a TSR2+ at 13 degrees but wanted a touch more forgiveness for tee shots. Bought a cally Mini Driver and find it to be very one dimensional, only good off the tee. Plus, the Titleist products just feel so solid. I think 280cc is a perfect size and I would love to test one out as soon as they are available.

I presume this has a 280cc club head. Will it be easier to slide through the air? I agree that the massive face on a 460cc driver isn't needed.
